After graduating from college four months ago, I had no idea where my life would take me, but a few months later I’ve found a role with Aviatra Accelerators as the Program Manager and I couldn’t imagine a better place to be!
Before joining this wonderful group of women, the only entrepreneurial background I had learned in the classroom but actually being in the middle of these small businesses has been a huge learning experience. Here are a few things I’ve learned from my first few weeks in the Start-Up community
It is the definition of COMMUNITY!
Everyone involved wants to see everyone else succeed. There are so many people in different roles- you don’t have to be an established business owner to get involved or make connections.
There are endless resources to take advantage of.
And a constant flow of knowledge and information. Between classes, mentors, and networking opportunities, there is no shortage of people wanting to help.
You will be surrounded by motivation and positivity.
These are some of the most highly motivated people I’ve ever been around. Hard work is a constant effort, and they have so much fun working so hard.
It is not your typical 9-5 job.
Work has involved meeting people, attending and learning about all kinds of events, and being flexible. It doesn’t even feel like work when you’re enjoying it so much!
I’ve learned so much and loved becoming involved with and welcomed into not only Aviatra but the Start-Up community in this city as a whole. This is just the beginning and I’m so excited to continue to grow with a community that has such a strong foundation.
