Check Her Out: Antoinette Mathis of Nina Lau’Rens Cakepops
HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BUSINESS IDEA & HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
To be honest, I was surfing the internet, and because I had always loved to bake and try new recipes, I tried the cakeball back in 2009. This bite-size treat has evolved over the years, and I eventually placed the Cakeball on a stick, which is known as the Cakepop. I have continued to improve my craft and creations ever since then.
HOW DID AVIATRA MAKE AN IMPACT ON YOUR BUSINESS?
I am a creative person and a lot of the time, “we” creatives love to work in the business, not necessarily on the business. Aviatra (formally known as Bad Girl Ventures) taught me that the business side is just as important as the creative side.
WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU FACED WHEN STARTING YOUR BUSINESS?
Marketing my business and getting my name out there was my biggest challenge.
WHAT GETS YOU EXCITED ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS TODAY?
Creating delicious bite-size treats that can be enjoyed by everyone without all of the guilt. Knowing that the possibilities are limitless as Nina Lau’Rens expands to many venues in the greater Cleveland area.
WHERE DO YOU HOPE TO BE IN 5 YEARS?
In five years, I hope to see Nina Lau’Rens Cakepops in every major airport in the United States!
