PRESIDENT/CEO JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Reports to: Aviatra Board of Directors Board Chair
Manages: All current staff and contract employees. Oversees all program volunteers.
Interfaces with:
- Aviatra Board of Directors and Advisory Board
- Aviatra alumnae companies
- Aviatra expansion markets Advisory Committees
- Area ecosystem partners including other local accelerators
- Sponsors, donors, grants & foundations, and other funding sources
- Local & regional business representatives
- Prospective clients
- Government entities and officials, chambers of commerce
Stakeholder & Public Relations
- Serve as the outward “face” of Aviatra Accelerators, locally, regionally, nationally to all constituent groups
- Direct all marketing, social media and communications through communications manager and outside marketing
- & PR firms
- Oversee Market staff in attracting and retaining new female founder clients; maintaining relationships with
- previous clients (Alumnae engagement)
- Develop and maintain strategic government relations, specifically as they relate to state and federal funding
- opportunities
- Foster and maintain productive relationships with all key stakeholders essential to Aviatra’s success
- Fundraise through grants, foundations, corporate sponsors, individual donors, events
- Monitor grant use and reporting functions
- Create and execute on Aviatra’s Strategic Plan, developed with the Board of Directors and Advisors
- Plan and execute four quarterly Board and Advisory meetings and one Annual Meeting (shared responsibility
- with Board Chair)
- Maintain files of board agendas, minutes and resolutions
- Communicate regularly with Directors and Advisors
- Hire, train, review, manage and coach all employees of Aviatra, including travel to expansion markets when
- applicable
- Create and manage all revenue and expenses, overseeing expansion market budgets
- Oversee outside bookkeeping and accounting firms
- Report monthly financials via meetings with BOD Finance Committee
- Oversee yearly audit or 1099 filings
- File and maintain all state and local legal and financial filings (Secretary of State, Attorney General, Operational
- licenses)
- Secure & maintain patents and trademarks as needed
- Maintain Aviatra Headquarters office space and coworking spaces; rent out offices and spaces
- Oversee all administrative aspects of the business
- Create and maintain curricula for all four levels of business education: EXPLORE®, LAUNCH®, GROW, and
- Aviatra365® Digital.
- Keep current on business building practices as they relate to female founders, startups and small businesses
- Oversee Market Directors/Managers’ coordination of all aspects of business education
- Individually coach clients
- Experience leading a business or significant operation within an organization (either for-profit or not-for-profit)
- Proven track record of successful fundraising, with particular emphasis with non-event fundraising
- Strong business community network with strong personal relationships in both Ohio and Kentucky
- Ability to manage a team & engage board
- Working knowledge of marketing & PR
- Good organization and communication skills
- Working knowledge of business finance
- Passion for working with and supporting female, small business owners
- Experience as an entrepreneur or running a small business
- Public speaking experience
